Site Agent – Construction Project Management

About the role

Our client, a reputable building and civil contractor, is seeking an experienced Site Agent to lead day‑to‑day operations on a major construction project in Cape Town. You will be responsible for coordinating all site activities, ensuring safety, quality, and timely delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and manage daily site operations, including subcontractors, labour, plant, and material resources.
• Monitor construction progress against the programme and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders; chair and attend site meetings.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety, quality, and environmental standards.
• Prepare site reports and maintain accurate project documentation.

Required profile

• National Diploma in Building or Civil Engineering, or a Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience as a Site Agent with a reputable construction contractor.
• Proven track record managing building and/or civil projects from inception to completion.
• Valid driver’s licence (essential).
• Strong leadership, planning, organisational, and communication abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Project.
