Short-Term Insurance Underwriter – Full‑Time

About the role

Futur‑e Insurance Brokers is seeking a qualified Short‑Term Insurance Underwriter to join its Pretoria East team. You will be responsible for assessing risk, pricing policies and managing the full claims lifecycle for personal and commercial lines.

Key responsibilities

• Underwrite short‑term insurance policies in line with company standards, policies and procedures.
• Process documentation accurately and ensure timely renewal reviews.
• Manage the complete claims process from first notification to final settlement.
• Liaise with insurers, loss adjusters, assessors, service providers and clients to resolve queries.
• Maintain clear written communication and administrative records.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal quality standards.

Required profile

• Minimum three (3) years of experience in short‑term insurance underwriting.
• Bilingual in Afrikaans and English with strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Valid driver’s licence, reliable transport and residence in Pretoria East or surrounding area.
• Successful completion of RE5 examination and required regulatory credits (150).
• Class of Business completed for Personal and Commercial lines in accordance with regulations.

Required skills

• Computer literate with good working knowledge of standard office software.
• Familiarity with insurance‑related computer systems and underwriting tools.
