Shipping Clerk – Heidelberg, Gauteng

About the role

A well‑established organisation in Heidelberg, Gauteng is looking for a detail‑driven Shipping Clerk to join its logistics and consumables division. The role involves coordinating international shipments, handling documentation, and supporting stock management while liaising with suppliers, couriers and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Track vessels, update delivery dates and report any delays.
• Coordinate container preparation and bookings with suppliers.
• Maintain supplier invoices, validate orders and manage import/export paperwork.
• Process stock transfers, GRNs and ensure accurate receipting.
• Liaise daily with stock controllers, warehouse staff, couriers and overseas partners.
• Obtain freight estimates, arrange courier shipments and monitor delivery timelines.
• Prepare shipping cost sheets, submit payment requests and handle customs documentation.
• Perform currency conversions and provide general support to the National Consumables Manager.

Required profile

• Proven experience in shipping and logistics (essential).
• Fluent English (spoken and written); Afrikaans advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical and maths proficiency.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet strict deadlines and influence outcomes.
• Valid driver’s licence.
