Shipping Assistant Administrator

About the role

Our client, a well‑established manufacturing company, is looking for a highly organised Shipping Assistant Administrator to join their logistics and finance team. You will coordinate import and export shipments, support international procurement and ensure accurate documentation across multiple sites.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate import and export shipping activities.
• Prepare and process shipping and export documentation.
• Liaise with freight forwarders, clearing agents, banks, suppliers and customers.
• Assist with procurement of imported raw materials and stock.
• Monitor and reconcile stock held at local and international warehouses.
• Support credit control and shipping administration.
• Maintain accurate records and reports using Excel and ERP.
• Ensure shipments are processed accurately and within required deadlines.

Required profile

• 3+ years’ experience in shipping, logistics or import/export administration.
• Matric with Mathematics; Diploma/Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain or similar.
• Exposure to international procurement and import/export documentation.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Required skills

• Microsoft Excel (essential).
• ERP experience – preferably SAGE.
