Shift Supervisor – Quick Service Restaurant (Western Cape)

About the role

The Shift Supervisor supports the Assistant Restaurant Manager in delivering consistent operational standards, product quality and excellent customer service. This role leads the team during shifts, ensuring compliance with company policies, health and safety, and cost control.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with CHAMPS standards (Cleanliness, Hospitality, Accuracy, Maintenance, Product, Speed of Service) throughout the shift.
• Manage shift schedules to optimise sales, efficiency and profitability while adhering to company policies.
• Allocate duties, monitor team performance and provide coaching as needed.
• Oversee routine maintenance, report issues and maintain a safe environment for staff and customers.
• Support training, coaching and development of team members in line with RGM and ARM objectives.
• Handle customer complaints professionally and ensure follow‑up actions.
• Monitor product quality, availability and presentation, ensuring food safety and hygiene standards.
• Control labour, food and operational costs, manage cash handling and banking procedures during the shift.

Required profile

• Minimum Grade 12 (or equivalent) with at least 2 years supervisory experience in the fast‑food industry.
• Valid South African ID, clear credit and criminal record, and ability to work flexible hours including weekends and public holidays.
• High personal standards, commercial awareness and results‑focused mindset.
• Resilient, adaptable leader with a coaching approach and willingness to work shifts.
