Shift Maintenance Technician

About the role

The Shift Maintenance Technician will ensure the reliable operation of plastic injection moulding equipment and associated plant utilities on a rotating shift pattern. The role involves diagnosing, repairing and preventing mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical faults to minimise downtime and support production efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily maintenance checks on injection moulding machines and related service equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical faults, including barrel heater temperature issues and oil leaks.
• Strip, inspect and replace injection screws, tie bars, toggles, linear bearings, and related components.
• Service pumps, motors, circuit breakers and hydraulic/electronic valves.
• Repair or replace transducers, sensors, safety switches and ejector plates/cylinders.
• Maintain cooling towers, chillers, compressors and associated water piping.
• Record all maintenance actions and hand over shift reports as required.
• Participate in planned maintenance programmes and contribute to continuous improvement of plant reliability.

Required profile

• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to read technical diagrams.
• Effective oral and written communication in English.
• Good judgement, basic maths and planning skills.
• Accountability and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and capability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
