SHE Specialist – 2 Year Contract

About the role

This 2‑year contract position is with a leading national automotive manufacturer. The SHE Specialist will plan, lead and manage Safety, Health and Environment functions across multiple manufacturing sites, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Drive implementation of SHE strategies and operational plans.
• Ensure compliance with the OHS Act, NEMA, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and other relevant legislation.
• Maintain ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems and certifications.
• Lead internal and external SHE audits, legal compliance audits and management reviews.
• Conduct risk assessments, environmental impact studies and hazard identification programmes.
• Manage SHE policies, procedures, protocols and related documentation.
• Lead incident and accident investigations, implementing corrective and preventative actions.
• Support, coach and develop Plant SHE Coordinators.
• Manage emergency preparedness, response plans and emergency drills.
• Monitor SHE performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or National Diploma in Safety Management.
• Environmental Health and Safety qualification.
• SAMTRAC or equivalent safety certification.
• ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 Internal Auditor certification.
• 3–5 years experience as a SHE Specialist or similar role, preferably in manufacturing or automotive.
