Service Technician – Wind Farm Operations

About the role

The Service Technician will join a Service Area team responsible for keeping wind farms across South Africa operating at peak performance. Working closely with the Lead Technician, you will perform both routine and complex maintenance on wind turbines and associated equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair wind turbine mechanical and electrical faults on‑site.
• Execute scheduled and reactive maintenance tasks on turbines, eBOP components and site infrastructure.
• Complete job cards, reports and checklists to keep supervisors and clients fully informed.
• Manage spare‑part inventory, record usage and ensure timely replacement.
• Supervise subcontractors to guarantee work meets Nordex Energy standards.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain a safe work environment and report any incidents promptly.

Required profile

• N6 Electrical/Mechanical Certificate with Trade Test or a National Diploma in Mechatronics, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Willingness to travel between wind farm sites and work overtime or standby shifts as required.
