Service Technician (Laboratory Equipment)

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Service Technician to install, commission, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment at client sites in Johannesburg. The role combines hands‑on technical work with customer interaction to ensure equipment runs reliably and downtime is minimized.

Key responsibilities

• Install, commission, and calibrate laboratory equipment on‑site.
• Perform preventative maintenance and routine servicing.
• Diagnose faults and repair mechanical and electronic components.
• Provide technical support and training to customers on equipment usage.
• Maintain accurate service records, reports, and compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Manage spare‑parts inventory and tools.
• Travel to client locations as required.

Required profile

• Diploma or certificate in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 2–5 years’ experience servicing technical or laboratory equipment.
• Basic knowledge of electronic circuits, fault finding, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to read technical manuals and schematics.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel.
