About the role
We are looking for a Senior Technical Accountant to join Marang’s finance team in Johannesburg. The role focuses on ensuring IFRS compliance, supporting strategy implementation and providing technical accounting expertise across the organisation.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement accounting strategies to ensure compliance with IFRS and group policies.
- Monitor and interpret new IFRS developments, providing training and support to finance and business teams.
- Review and assess central contracts for IFRS compliance and conduct related risk assessments.
- Support financial reporting, including detailed IFRS disclosures for interim and annual statements.
- Assist with M&A transaction assessments, due diligence and integration of accounting conclusions.
Required profile
- Honours or postgraduate degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
- CA (SA) qualification is required.
- 2‑3 years of technical accounting experience, preferably in financial services or telecom.
Required skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and modelling.
