Senior Structural Engineer - Pretoria

About the role

Join a well‑established multidisciplinary consulting engineering firm as a Senior Structural Engineer, focusing on commercial developments in Pretoria. You will lead complex projects, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with a diverse team of engineers, architects, and consultants.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare technical and commercial proposals, fee estimates, and project execution plans.
• Conduct feasibility studies, option analyses, and technical due diligence.
• Develop and review engineering calculations, specifications, and design documentation.
• Manage procurement processes, including tender documentation and bid evaluations.
• Coordinate structural design resources to ensure timely project delivery.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, municipalities and government departments throughout the project lifecycle.
• Lead structural engineering projects from concept through completion across commercial, retail, hospitality, healthcare and mixed‑use developments.

Required profile

• BSc/BEng degree in Civil Engineering.
• Registered Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng) with ECSA – non‑negotiable.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant structural engineering experience, including at least 2 years post‑registration.
• Proven experience on commercial projects such as office buildings, retail centres, hotels and healthcare facilities.
• Strong leadership, communication and people‑management abilities.
