About the role
Absa is seeking a Senior Specialist Transaction Accountant to join its Active Portfolio Management team in Sandton. The role supports strategic portfolio optimisation initiatives, including portfolio sales, securitisations, and other structured transactions, ensuring robust accounting and reporting.
Key responsibilities
- Assess financial and accounting implications of structured finance transactions.
- Support the full lifecycle of transaction execution from planning to finalisation.
- Engage with internal stakeholders such as Finance, Technical Accounting, Treasury, and operations.
- Prepare reports, conduct analyses, and uphold governance requirements.
- Review transaction performance and associated risks.
Required profile
- Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) designation (mandatory).
- Minimum five years of experience in the financial services sector.
- Post‑graduate degree or professional qualification in Financial Sciences.
- Strong commercial acumen and stakeholder management abilities.
