Senior Software Engineer

About the role

Takealot Fulfilment Solutions (TFS) is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its Logistics team in South Africa. You will help build and optimise the technology that powers the delivery of millions of parcels and food orders each year.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain micro‑service based systems for parcel and food delivery.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to improve delivery processes and efficiency.
• Research and prototype solutions for logistics challenges, including actor‑model patterns and graph‑traversal optimisation.
• Own end‑to‑end delivery of features on open‑source platforms.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of production‑grade software development experience.
• Strong background with SQL databases and Linux development environments.
• Ability to work independently and contribute to a high‑perform team.
