Senior Software Engineer

About the role

Communicate Finance is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a forward‑thinking team in Cape Town. You will own software architecture and delivery for key projects, shaping next‑generation products while reducing reliance on legacy systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable, high‑quality software solutions.
• Collaborate with product managers, stakeholders and development teams to define technical direction.
• Lead technical initiatives, mentor junior developers and ensure best‑practice coding standards.
• Drive technical excellence through code reviews, testing and continuous improvement.
• Automate build, deployment and monitoring processes for production environments.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of experience with React and TypeScript, including REST API integration.
• Strong full‑stack, frontend or backend experience.NET C# expertise for building RESTful APIs.
• Proficiency with MS SQL database development, queries, stored procedures and administration.
• Demonstrated ability to write clean, maintainable, testable code using OOP, design patterns, SOLID and DRY principles.
• Experience with unit, integration and automated testing practices.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and within a team.
