Senior SHE Officer

About the role

Responsible for occupational health and safety (OHS) programs as the appointed Management Representative, ensuring the OHSAS 18001 health and safety management system is maintained, improved and compliant with legal and international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Revise health & safety standards and forms, monitor performance and report to senior management.
• Assist with risk assessments, incident investigations and internal audits.
• Ensure compliance with SHE legislation, conduct non‑conformance reviews and recommend system improvements.
• Monitor external security provider performance, investigate security incidents and conduct site spot‑checks.
• Prepare safety files for sales teams and verify safety compliance at installation sites.
• Liaise with accreditation authorities and support all sections in resolving management‑system issues.

Required profile

• Grade 12 with maths plus a degree/diploma in safety and environment engineering.
• OHSA 18001 or NOSA qualification; ISO 14001 for environmental functions.
• Qualified systems auditor with knowledge of BEEA, LRA and related legislation.
• Minimum 10 years occupational health and safety experience, including 5 years in manufacturing/process environments and 3 years in management.
