Senior Sales Account Manager - Financial Markets

About the role

Iress, a technology company serving financial services since 1993, is looking for an experienced and dynamic Senior Sales Account Manager in Johannesburg. The role drives new client acquisition and helps grow and retain existing clients within the financial markets business segment, with success measured by sales targets, an expanding client base and high client satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and target potential clients in the financial sector and develop strategic sales plans to achieve sales targets
• Conduct market research on client needs and industry trends and report findings to senior team members
• Present and demonstrate products and services, negotiate contracts and close deals
• Nurture existing client relationships, identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities, and hold regular client reviews
• Manage the sales pipeline, maintain CRM records and prepare regular sales reports and forecasts for senior management
• Collaborate with the marketing team on lead generation and sales campaigns, and coordinate projects with delivery teams

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics or a related field
• At least 3 years of sales experience in the financial market data industry or a related field
• Demonstrated ability to contribute to sales targets and a strong understanding of financial markets
• Previous experience with major financial market data providers (e.g. Bloomberg, Refinitiv, FactSet) preferred

Required skills

• Sales pipeline management, prospecting, lead qualification and forecasting
• Negotiation and persuasion, closing sales and value proposition articulation
• Sales performance analysis, including conversion rates, win/loss ratios and revenue projections
• CRM use and strong organisational skills
