Senior Project Manager – Renewable Energy Advisory

About the role

Harmattan Renewables is expanding its Advisory team across Africa and is looking for a Senior Project Manager to lead feasibility studies, technical and commercial due diligence, and independent engineering advisory for solar, wind and BESS projects. The role is fast‑paced, hybrid, and based in the Johannesburg Metropolitan Area with regional travel.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage complex renewable energy projects from planning through operations.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, oversee schedules, budgets and risk registers.
• Ensure compliance with technical, regulatory and quality standards.
• Prepare technical and commercial reports, support contract negotiations and optimise logistics and expediting.
• Engage with investors, developers, IPPs and owners, providing independent advisory.
• Contribute to business development activities and mentor junior team members.

Required profile

• 4‑6 years of project management experience (7+ years for senior level).
• Consulting background, preferably in a small firm with strong commercial awareness.
• Proven track record delivering complex engineering or renewable‑energy projects on time.
• Self‑motivated, able to work under tight deadlines and handle fast‑paced tasks.
• Willingness to travel regionally and work in a hybrid environment.
