Senior Professional Officer – Town Planning (Contract)

About the role

Are you an experienced Town Planner looking for your next opportunity in Cape Town? Our client is seeking 11 Senior Professional Officers (Town Planning) to join their team on a contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced planning professionals to apply their expertise within a dynamic local government environment and contribute to the effective management of land‑use applications across Cape Town.

Key responsibilities

• Process land‑use applications across the eight district offices.
• Undertake planning‑related projects and tasks as assigned.
• Ensure all legislated timeframes, procedures and protocols are met and adhered to.
• Perform the administrative functions associated with land‑use planning applications.

Required profile

• Relevant degree in Town and Regional Planning.
• At least 5 years of relevant postgraduate experience at an appropriate level.
• Minimum of 2 years of related supervisory experience.

Required skills

• Technical or professional registration with SACPLAN.
• Sound working knowledge of planning and local government legislation, as well as NEMA regulations.
• Experience working with Development Application Management Systems (DAMS).
