Senior Procurement Manager

About the role

The client is looking for an experienced, commercially‑savvy Senior Procurement Manager to lead the procurement function and a team of six professionals. You will develop strategies, source and negotiate with suppliers, and ensure optimal value while maintaining quality and service standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and manage a team of six procurement staff.
• Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Source, evaluate and appoint new suppliers while maintaining existing relationships.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, contracts, rebates and service agreements.
• Conduct market research on pricing trends, product availability and supplier performance.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities and drive profitability initiatives.
• Oversee tender processes, supplier evaluations and contract management.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and governance standards.
• Collaborate with Finance, Operations, Projects and other departments to forecast purchasing needs.
• Monitor supplier performance, delivery times, quality and service levels.
• Analyse spend data and prepare reports for senior management.
• Develop procurement budgets and track expenditure.
• Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Promote continuous improvement and build strategic supplier partnerships.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Commerce, Quantity Surveying, Finance, Accounting, Business Management or related field.
• Professional procurement qualification (e.g., CIPS) is advantageous.
• 8–10 years of procurement experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven experience managing procurement teams and negotiating high‑value contracts.
