Senior Procurement Manager – FMCG (Pretoria)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Procurement Manager to lead the end‑to‑end sourcing function for a leading FMCG business in Pretoria. You will ensure the timely availability of dry goods, frozen products, fresh produce and catering equipment while driving cost efficiencies and supplier performance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full procurement cycle for all product categories, securing competitive pricing and optimal stock levels.
• Negotiate and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, handling pricing, delivery and service issues.
• Collaborate with Sales and Operations to forecast demand and guarantee product availability.
• Monitor supplier performance, resolve discrepancies, and conduct regular stock‑takes.
• Analyse purchasing trends and market conditions to identify cost‑saving opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, quality standards and cold‑chain requirements.
• Lead, coach and develop the procurement team, promoting continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven experience in procurement within a fast‑paced FMCG or food‑distribution environment.
• Strong commercial acumen with a track record of delivering cost efficiencies.
• Excellent negotiation and supplier‑management skills.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with Sales, Operations and finance teams.
• Leadership experience managing a procurement team.
