Senior Operations Supervisor – Logistics

About the role

Triton Express, a leading road freight logistics provider in Southern Africa, is seeking a Senior Operations Supervisor to oversee both inbound and outbound freight services at its Durban hub. You will ensure efficient handling of consignments, accurate data capture, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise inbound freight services, including off‑loading, manifest processing, waybill sorting, and handling of hazardous, prohibited, or damaged consignments.
• Monitor and verify that information systems capture all status data accurately.
• Supervise outbound freight services, ensuring proper loading, sealing, and authorisation of manifests for line‑haul departures.
• Manage communication and distribution of freight information, including discrepancy and retention manifests.
• Oversee local delivery loading, vehicle floor activity, and ensure correct handling of all consignments.

Required profile

• Grade 12 qualification.
• National Certificate in Road Transport Management.
• 3–4 years of experience in freight or transport operations, preferably in a supervisory capacity.
• In‑depth understanding of freight operations, packaging requirements (including hazardous chemicals), and load distribution.
• Basic technical knowledge of motor vehicles, fleet tracking systems, and traffic regulations.
• Proficiency with standard office software (MS Word, Excel, Outlook) and computer operations.
