Senior Operations Supervisor – Johannesburg

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Operations Supervisor to lead our Johannesburg (Kempton Park) branch. The role involves overseeing day‑to‑day distribution activities, managing both day and night shift teams, and ensuring efficient, punctual service across the network.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and train the Operations Team to achieve high productivity.
• Supervise daily activities of operational staff on both day‑shift and night‑shift.
• Ensure accurate handovers between shifts and minimise shortages, misroutes and damages.
• Prepare and submit daily, weekly and monthly operational reports on time.
• Maintain full uniform compliance and monitor overtime.
• Coordinate 3rd‑party line‑haul bookings and direct loads for on‑site loading.
• Plan daily bike deliveries and monitor zone controller reports.
• Control P&L loss on vehicles versus routing and work with the Fleet Manager to optimise the fleet.
• Support Customer Service with queries to uphold customer satisfaction.
• Enforce company policies, disciplinary actions and ensure courteous professional conduct.

Required profile

• Grade 12 Certificate.
• 3–5 years of operational distribution management experience.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Strong organisational, planning and shift‑handover capabilities.
• Reliable, punctual and able to discipline staff when required.
• Problem‑solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
