Senior Operations Manager

About the role

Majinga, a leading events and exhibition company in Johannesburg, is seeking a Senior Operations Manager. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will shape and execute the operations strategy, lead a multidisciplinary team, and ensure a consistently high level of service across all shows.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and continuously improve the department’s operating strategy and processes.
• Maintain clear communication with management, staff, and vendors to guarantee smooth operations.
• Partner with cross‑functional teams to enhance proprietary tools and systems.
• Handle financial planning, resource allocation, and critical decision‑making.
• Set KPIs and personal development plans for each team member and monitor performance.
• Manage client relationships through CRM to deliver exceptional service.
• Negotiate supplier rates, establish contracts and SLAs, and secure cost‑effective terms.
• Ensure staff satisfaction, efficiency, and collaboration with other departments.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of operational experience, preferably in the events/exhibition sector.
• Matric qualification with some relevant tertiary education.
• Strong communication, organisational, and team‑leadership abilities.
• Ability to handle objections, work methodically, and pay close attention to detail.
• Commercially driven with a focus on achieving goals.
