Senior New Business Sales Executive – Freight Forwarding & Logistics

About the role

We are seeking a proven New Business Sales Hunter to drive growth across freight forwarding, customs clearing, warehousing and contract logistics. The role focuses on acquiring profitable customers and expanding our market presence in South Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and secure new business opportunities in freight, clearing and contract logistics.
• Sell sea, air and road freight services, customs clearing and integrated logistics solutions.
• Develop new warehousing, distribution and dedicated contract logistics opportunities.
• Prospect, qualify leads and manage the full sales cycle from proposal to close.
• Prepare RFQs/RFPs, tenders and negotiate commercial agreements.
• Achieve revenue and gross profit targets while maintaining a robust sales pipeline.
• Collaborate with operations to ensure smooth client onboarding.
• Maintain accurate CRM records, forecasts and market intelligence.

Required profile

• Grade 12 qualification; logistics or sales qualification is advantageous.
• Minimum 5 years B2B logistics sales experience, with strong freight forwarding and clearing exposure.
• Proven track record in new‑business acquisition and revenue growth.
• Excellent negotiation, presentation and relationship‑building abilities.

Required skills

• CRM usage for pipeline and activity tracking.
