Senior Medical Receptionist (Pinelands)

About the role

We are seeking a professional, friendly, and experienced Senior Medical Receptionist to be the first point of contact for patients at our busy practice in Pinelands, Cape Town. The role involves managing the front‑desk, supporting doctors, and ensuring smooth clinic operations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a busy reception desk and answer incoming telephone calls professionally.
• Welcome and assist patients in a friendly manner.
• Maintain the doctor’s diary, schedule appointments and coordinate theatre bookings when required.
• Perform daily administrative duties, create and update accurate patient files, and verify personal and medical‑aid information.
• Respond to patient enquiries, liaise with medical professionals, hospitals and other parties.
• Provide general clerical support, keep reception areas organised, and uphold strict confidentiality.
• Assist with additional administrative tasks as directed by the doctor or practice.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist (essential).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Afrikaans and English.
• Strong organisational, time‑management and multitasking abilities.
• High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential patient information.
• Professional, friendly, patient‑focused attitude.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience with Eminance and/or HealthFocus (advantageous).
