Senior Manager - Transfer Pricing

About the role

The Senior Manager – Transfer Pricing will lead the Group’s transfer pricing compliance, advisory and strategic initiatives across MTN’s operating companies. Reporting to the General Manager, Transfer Pricing and ultimately the Group Executive Tax, the role ensures alignment with global policies while addressing local tax requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Act as custodian of the Group Transfer Pricing Strategy, Mandates and Policies, ensuring they are up‑to‑date with regional tax laws.
• Provide advisory support on intercompany transactions, selecting appropriate transfer pricing methods and preparing documentation such as Master Files, Local Files and Country‑by‑Country Reports.
• Liaise with tax authorities, manage transfer pricing audits and mitigate related risks.
• Support OpCos on compliance, advise on tax implications of new business initiatives, M&A deals and technology integration projects.
• Lead a team of junior managers, setting objectives, mentoring and overseeing performance.
• Drive knowledge‑management activities, including training on evolving transfer pricing regulations.

Required profile

• H. Dip Tax or equivalent qualification; CA (SA), CIMA, B. Proc, BA LLB or similar.
• Articles completed at a top‑5 audit firm or law firm.
• Extensive experience in transfer pricing, international tax and advisory services, preferably within a telecom or multinational environment.
• Proven ability to manage complex cross‑border transactions and lead a tax team.
