Senior Litigation Attorney

About the role

O’Reilly Law, a boutique corporate and commercial law firm in Cape Town, is seeking a Senior Litigation Attorney to join its team on a full‑time, on‑site basis. The successful candidate will take ownership of civil and commercial litigation matters from inception through to resolution, providing expert advice and representation to our clients.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of civil and commercial litigation cases independently, from drafting pleadings to finalisation.
• Develop and implement effective litigation strategies and appear in court as required.
• Liaise with external counsel, ensuring seamless coordination and communication.
• Advise clients on dispute resolution options and keep them informed of case progress.
• Maintain meticulous file records, adhere to court rules and procedural deadlines, and manage multiple matters simultaneously.

Required profile

• Admitted attorney with at least 5 years of post‑qualification experience in civil and commercial litigation.
• Proven ability to manage litigation files independently from start to finish.
• Excellent drafting, analytical and communication skills.
• Strong client relationship and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Exceptional organisational, diary and deadline management skills.
