Senior Legal Counsel – FMCG Industry

About the role

Premier FMCG is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to lead its legal portfolio within a dynamic fast‑moving consumer goods environment. The role provides risk‑based, practical advice that supports business growth while safeguarding the company’s legal interests.

Key responsibilities

• Act as trusted senior legal advisor to internal stakeholders, understanding their operations, commercial goals and risk profile.
• Independently manage legal matters from initiation to completion, assessing legal and commercial risk and delivering clear, practical advice.
• Draft, review, negotiate and advise on agreements, legal instruments, policies and related documentation.
• Oversee disputes, regulatory matters, legal projects and material issues, including managing external counsel where required.
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments, supporting responses, controls, training and process improvements.
• Lead or contribute to strategic legal initiatives, transactions and integration workstreams.
• Utilise technology, automation and AI in compliance with governance, confidentiality and data‑protection requirements.

Required profile

• Admitted Attorney with at least 5 years post‑qualification experience in an in‑house counsel role or reputable private practice.
• Proven ability to manage complex matters independently.
• Strong knowledge of contract law and experience drafting and reviewing agreements.
• Experience in the FMCG sector or IT/technology contracting is advantageous.
• Excellent written and oral communication, sound judgement and stakeholder leadership.
