Senior IT Operations Engineer (IAC & Transitions Management)

About the role

Our client is seeking a Senior Operations Engineer to join the core Operations Engineering team within their global IT Hub. The role drives the strategic Conformity of Production (CoP) and Idea‑to‑Offer (ItO) quality platform landscape, unifying and future‑proofing IT applications across the manufacturing value stream to meet serial production quality goals, harmonise data models, manage regulatory reporting and enable rapid adaptation for next‑generation vehicle technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Lead configuration management and Infrastructure as Code initiatives using Terraform and Ansible to standardise and stabilise production platforms.
• Drive service transition activities for new IT services and major releases, ensuring seamless, governed handovers into 24/7 operations.
• Act as technical escalation point for critical production incidents, performing root‑cause analysis and implementing permanent work‑arounds.
• Monitor and report operational KPIs via Grafana and Prometheus, reducing manual effort through automated runbooks.
• Identify and implement AI tools to increase operational quality, automation and delivery speed.
• Partner with cross‑functional feature squads, security leads and regulated business teams to embed “design for run” principles.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Senior Operations Engineer, SRE or Cloud Systems Lead with 6‑8 years of relevant experience.
• Strong communication and mentoring abilities, capable of leading cross‑functional teams without direct authority.
