Senior Internal Auditor

About the role

The Senior Internal Auditor will join TFG's Group Risk & Assurance function, providing independent assurance over financial, operational, technology, cybersecurity, compliance and strategic risks. The role involves managing audit projects from initiation through to reporting and follow‑up.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and project‑manage assigned internal audit projects from start to completion.
• Conduct process analysis, develop narrative and flow‑chart documentation, and maintain process analysis records.
• Identify risks and controls, develop and maintain a risk‑and‑control matrix, and determine audit scope per process.
• Design audit programmes, prepare workpapers, and validate findings with control owners.
• Prepare draft audit reports, close audit files, and conduct quality reviews.
• Develop testing logic for data‑enabled audit projects, including user acceptance testing before production release.
• Design, distribute and collate control self‑assessment questionnaires and report results.
• Track remedial actions, maintain issue logs, and prepare elements for executive and board reporting.

Required profile

• BCom/BTech degree in Internal Audit or Accounting.
• Member of a professional body such as IIA, SAICA, SAIPA, or equivalent.
• Qualified CIA, CA (SA) or similar professional certification.
• 3‑5 years of proven internal audit experience, including leading audit projects.
• Experience using analytical tools (ACL, IDEA, PowerBi) and leveraging AI technology throughout audit phases.
