Senior Internal Auditor

About the role

Mimecast is seeking a Senior Internal Auditor to strengthen its internal control environment and support the global accounting function. You will leverage cutting‑edge tools and collaborate with finance teams to ensure robust audit processes and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and administer the AuditBoard platform, ensuring accurate configuration, data integrity, and effective integration with global accounting.
• Support FloQast administration, manage close checklists, track reconciliations, and align close processes with control documentation.
• Document global business processes, including flowcharts, narratives, and risk‑and‑control matrices.
• Identify control gaps, recommend remediation steps, and track remediation to resolution.
• Assist in planning and executing internal audits, including walkthroughs, design testing, and operating effectiveness testing.
• Partner with finance and other stakeholders to design and monitor effective controls.
• Coordinate with external auditors on control‑related deliverables.
• Leverage AI tools such as Claude to streamline documentation, control testing, and audit workpaper preparation.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in internal audit, controls, or a related internal‑controls function.
• Proven ability to document business processes and create risk‑and‑control matrices.
• Familiarity with internal control frameworks such as COSO.
• Experience working with global accounting functions and public US SEC companies is a plus.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA, CIA, or CISA preferred.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with AuditBoard or similar internal‑control software.
• Hands‑on experience with FloQast or comparable accounting close management tools.
• Comfort using AI tools (e.g., Claude) for process documentation and audit efficiency.
• Knowledge of COSO internal‑control framework.
