About the role

Morae Global is seeking a Senior Insurance Specialist Attorney to join its Cape Town office on a permanent, hybrid basis. The role focuses on short‑term insurance claims and dispute resolution for a high‑impact client in the ASIAPAC region, requiring strong legal analysis and client‑focused communication.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and review short‑term insurance claims and related documentation.
• Prepare and collate response materials for AFCA (Australian Financial Complaints Authority) dispute matters.
• Apply external dispute‑resolution guidelines when assessing and responding to complaints.
• Draft professional written responses that clearly articulate the client’s position.
• Recommend appropriate dispute‑resolution strategies and support post‑submission processes.
• Handle document collation, uploads, and administrative support for claims and ombuds matters.
• Ensure accurate and timely workflow management throughout the complaints resolution process.

Required profile

• Qualified admitted attorney (LLB required) with at least 5 years of experience in insurance law.
• Strong exposure to short‑term insurance claims and ombuds complaint processes.
• Commercially minded with sound judgement and the ability to work within structured review frameworks.
