Senior Information Security Consultant

About the role

Cognisys is seeking a Senior Information Security Consultant to join its growing GRC team. This remote, client‑facing position will help organisations strengthen security posture, meet compliance obligations and build practical security programmes aligned with business goals.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and deliver multiple concurrent GRC consultancy engagements across various industries.
• Act as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, building trusted relationships throughout the engagement lifecycle.
• Design and implement security and compliance programmes based on ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST and other recognised standards.
• Conduct security maturity assessments, gap analyses, governance reviews and develop remediation roadmaps.
• Support clients through certification readiness, external audits and ongoing compliance activities.
• Facilitate workshops, risk assessments and stakeholder meetings for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Produce high‑quality reports, recommendations and client deliverables.
• Mentor junior consultants and contribute to the continuous improvement of the GRC practice.

Required profile

• Several years of experience in information security consulting, preferably in a client‑facing environment.
• Strong ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical, business‑focused solutions.
• Excellent communication skills with both technical and executive stakeholders.
• Proactive, self‑motivated and comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of ISO 27001, SOC 2 and NIST frameworks.
• Experience conducting security maturity assessments, gap analyses and governance reviews.
• Ability to develop remediation roadmaps and support certification readiness.
• Proficiency in designing policies, standards, procedures and risk registers.
