Senior Grain Grader

About the role

To provide support to the Silo Manager with regards to the operation of the silo and determining the grade of commodities (grain) in a fair and ethical manner. The role involves accurate grading of grain commodities, maintaining inventory records, and ensuring compliance with safety and food‑quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Grade grain commodities accurately
• Control and monitor stock levels
• Maintain accurate records of grain grades and stock movements
• Assist the Silo Manager with daily operational tasks
• Ensure compliance with safety and food‑safety regulations

Required profile

• Grade 12
• 3 years relevant experience
• Relevant post‑matric qualification (advantage)
• Completed grain grading courses
• Experience in food safety (advantage)
• Valid driver’s licence
• Willingness to work long hours
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment

Required skills

• Strong communication in Afrikaans and English
• Computer literate (MS Office)
• Good interpersonal skills
• Physical ability to climb silos and perform manual tasks
• Strong administrative orientation
