Senior GL Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented finance professional to join our Finance Business Partner team supporting Africa Services. The Senior GL Accountant will manage complex general ledger activities, drive month‑end and year‑end close processes, and provide insightful financial analysis to business stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Review and analyse general ledger accounts and financial transactions.
• Support month‑end and year‑end close activities.
• Manage budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Review debtor balances, ageing reports, and recovery activities.
• Prepare and analyse profit and loss reports and balance‑sheet schedules.
• Support intercompany accounting and reconciliations.
• Assist with audits, tax pack preparation, VAT support, and fixed‑asset reporting.
• Build strong relationships with business stakeholders and provide financial guidance.

Required profile

• Degree or Honours in Finance or Accounting.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in a finance environment.
• Strong general ledger and financial reporting experience.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Effective communication and relationship‑building skills.
