Senior Frontend Engineer (Scripting) – Hybrid, Cape Town

About the role

OfferZen is seeking a seasoned Frontend Engineer to join its growing technology team in Cape Town. The position follows a hybrid model, combining remote flexibility with on‑site collaboration. You will help shape cutting‑edge web applications that drive business innovation.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement user‑facing features using modern frontend technologies.
• Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate UI components with server‑side logic.
• Translate UI/UX designs into high‑quality, maintainable code.
• Write clean, efficient code, conduct unit testing and participate in code reviews.
• Identify and fix defects, optimise performance and contribute to process improvements.

Required profile

• At least three years of professional experience in frontend engineering.
• Strong understanding of scripting languages, modern JavaScript (ES6+) and related frameworks.
• Proficiency with HTML5, CSS3 and preprocessors such as SASS or LESS.
• Experience working in agile teams and using Git for version control.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
