Senior Financial Structurer – Investment Analyst/Manager

About the role

The company is looking to recruit an ambitious and energetic financial Structurer who will help Candi to lead the revolution of solar by focusing on the financial structuring of solar projects in South Africa. Given that Candi is taking solar into a new realm with a new set of tools, the role will require creativity, innovation and a new way of thinking.

Key responsibilities

• Manage solar transactions, including negotiation, due diligence, financial modelling, stakeholder coordination and legal documentation to bring deals to successful close.
• Perform financial, structuring and legal analysis on target deals to develop optimal solutions for Candi and its clients.
• Review and negotiate legal documentation with external parties.
• Collaborate with Business Development, Risk, Engineering, Finance and Asset Management to close transactions.
• Pitch to clients and devise innovative solutions to meet their needs.
• Analyse, price and execute opportunities in secondary markets, such as portfolios of projects for sale.
• Help define and execute a strategy to accelerate the pace and conversion of solar projects in South Africa.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in financial and/or legal structuring or M&A at a financial institution, corporate, utility or law firm.
• Several years of experience structuring C&I or utility‑scale solar projects.
• Strong quantitative skills and proficiency in financial modelling, especially Excel; coding skills are a plus.
• Solid understanding of financial risks and solar financial products.
• Experience reviewing and negotiating contracts with third parties.
• Ability to coordinate and interact with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
• Proven ability to manage multiple transactions and projects simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment.
• Self‑starter with an entrepreneurial spirit and a track record of meeting KPIs.
• Comfortable using digital tools such as Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
• Excellent written and spoken English; additional languages are a plus.
• Degree in finance, business, law or related field.
