Senior Financial Accountant (Remote)

About the role

An autonomous, high‑impact senior accounting position for a renowned leader, managing full‑function general ledger operations, Sage Payroll Professional, and statutory tax governance from home.

Key responsibilities

• Process transactional accounting entries across multiple entities up to trial balance and assist with management accounts, income statements and cash flow statements.
• Administer full‑cycle payroll on Sage Payroll Professional, including UIF declarations, claim documentation and annual ROE submissions.
• Prepare and submit statutory returns (VAT201, EMP201, EMP501, provisional tax, corporate income tax) and perform SARS reconciliations.
• Compile year‑end audit files, fixed‑asset registers and serve as primary liaison for auditors.
• Verify payment batches via Standard Bank Business Online, perform supplier/VAT reconciliations and maintain inventory records on Microsoft systems for manufacturing operations.

Required profile

• BCom Degree in Accounting (essential).
• Minimum 8 years of solid commercial accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Proven ability to work independently from home, meet tight deadlines and maintain high numerical accuracy.

Required skills

• Sage Evolution (operational command).
• Sage Payroll Professional.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Microsoft inventory management systems.
