Senior Financial Accountant

About the role

Join a fast‑growing South African business as a Senior Financial Accountant, working directly with the CEO and executive team. You will act as a trusted business partner, ensuring financial accuracy while delivering insights that drive strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Manage month‑end and year‑end closing processes.
• Perform balance‑sheet reconciliations and maintain the general ledger.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow management.
• Support audit processes and the preparation of annual financial statements.
• Oversee VAT, tax and statutory compliance requirements.
• Monitor financial performance, identify trends and risks.
• Provide financial analysis and reporting to operational teams.
• Drive process improvements and strengthen internal controls.
• Partner with senior executives to deliver meaningful business insights.

Required profile

• Completed articles with 2–3 years post‑articles experience, or BCom with 5–6 years relevant accounting experience.
• Strong accounting and financial reporting knowledge.
• Excellent Excel skills and strong systems aptitude.
• Confident communicator able to engage senior stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Professional, proactive and solutions‑driven attitude.
