Senior Financial Accountant

About the role

We are looking for an accomplished finance professional to lead our accounting function in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town. As a Senior Financial Accountant you will own the full finance cycle, ensure statutory compliance and provide insightful analysis to support strategic growth.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the month‑end close process, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations and supporting schedules.
• Oversee creditors and debtors functions, ensuring timely processing and accurate reporting.
• Prepare and review VAT, PAYE and other statutory submissions and liaise with SARS and regulatory bodies.
• Coordinate the year‑end audit, compile audit schedules and provide required documentation.
• Assist senior management with budgeting, forecasting and ad‑hoc financial reporting.
• Maintain strong internal controls and mentor junior accounting staff.

Required profile

• BCom degree or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Proven experience with VAT, PAYE and statutory compliance in South Africa.
• Demonstrated ability to manage month‑end close and audit processes.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of South African tax legislation (VAT, PAYE).
• Strong understanding of statutory reporting requirements.
