Senior Financial Accountant – Income & Expenses

About the role

An exciting opportunity exists for a Senior Financial Accountant within a dynamic Financial Services Centre. The role ensures accuracy, integrity and performance of income and expense accounting, with a strong focus on financial analysis, compliance and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse Head Office IT income and expenses against budget, identifying and explaining variances.
• Prepare and review monthly management accounts and supporting schedules.
• Compile and review Board reporting packs (IT related).
• Manage and account for borrowings and finance costs (internal and external), ensuring compliance with agreements and timely payments.
• Support the annual budgeting process for IT expenditure and finance‑related income/costs.
• Prepare audit schedules and liaise with internal and external auditors.
• Review accounting reconciliations and resolve reconciling items.
• Provide technical accounting support to the business.
• Engage with internal stakeholders and respond to queries with a customer‑centric approach.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and standardisation.
• Lead and manage a small team of at least three staff members.
• Participate in and drive ad‑hoc projects.

Required profile

• CA(SA) qualification (essential).
• Minimum 4 years post‑articles experience in a commercial finance environment.
• Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Experience managing borrowings and finance‑cost accounting.
• Strong leadership ability to guide and develop a small team.

Required skills

• Microsoft Excel (advanced, pivot tables, basic macros).
• SAP (advantageous).
