Senior Finance Shared Services Manager

About the role

The Senior Finance Shared Services Manager leads multiple finance service lines—including AP Non‑Merchandise, Rental & Utilities, Sundry Debtors, Payroll Accounting and balance‑sheet reconciliation—within Central Finance Shared Services. The role ensures accurate processing, robust controls, compliance and continuous improvement through the Synergy platform.

Key responsibilities

• Lead AP Non‑Merchandise, Rental & Utilities, Sundry Debtors and Payroll Accounting teams to ensure accurate, complete and timely transactional processing, reconciliations and reporting.
• Own balance‑sheet reconciliation reporting and monitoring, driving visibility, escalation and resolution of aged items and control gaps.
• Provide Finance Service Management by operating a single‑entry point for finance queries, handling intake validation, ticket routing, escalation and SLA monitoring.
• Embed the Synergy platform as the core tool for ticket management, SOP adherence, workload visibility and continuous improvement.
• Drive process standardisation, simplification and automation in partnership with Finance Process & Systems, IT and business stakeholders.
• Develop, monitor and present operational performance metrics to support proactive decision‑making.

Required profile

• CA(SA) qualification (essential).
• 8‑10 years of progressive finance, accounting or shared‑services experience.
• 3‑5 years in a senior leadership or managerial role overseeing high‑volume finance operations.
• Proven experience in a Finance Shared Services environment with service‑management platforms, SLA governance and SOP ownership.
• Track record of process improvement, workflow optimisation, automation and finance transformation.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP or equivalent.
• Experience using service‑management platforms for ticketing and SLA monitoring.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas and data analysis.
• Familiarity with automation and reporting tools to streamline finance processes.
