Senior Digital Commerce Merchandising Designer

About the role

The Senior Digital Commerce Merchandising Designer translates and executes the creative vision across digital channels, with a strong emphasis on design that drives e-commerce conversions. The role combines high-volume merchandising design with wider digital design duties such as website assets, social media visuals and UI improvements, working closely with merchandising and marketing teams. It covers both General Merchandise and Foods divisions.

Key responsibilities

• Create high-volume in-app creatives (banners, category visuals) aligned with trading objectives
• Improve product and category pages with clear visual hierarchy and lifestyle imagery
• Keep digital interactions consistent, clear and conversion-focused
• Produce designs and content for websites, product graphics, social media banners and static and rich ads
• Develop mock-ups, wireframes and prototypes for web and mobile interfaces
• Maintain design systems and component libraries
• Work with merchandisers, agencies, marketing managers and developers, and run iterative design including usability testing
• Analyse engagement metrics such as click-through rates and refine designs accordingly
• Follow brand CI guidelines and comply with copyright and data privacy regulations

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Digital Design, Graphic Design or a related field (essential)
• 4-5 years of digital design experience, preferably in e-commerce or performance-oriented settings
• Strong portfolio showing conversion-oriented design and digital assets
• Proven project management skills and ability to handle multiple deadlines
• Good grasp of branding, UX principles and web design methods

Required skills

• Familiarity with HTML and CMS platforms (advantageous)
• Use of AI-driven design tools, automation and personalization trends
• Knowledge of responsive design and UX/UI best practices
