About the role
Our client is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to lead a major infrastructure transformation from on‑premise to a cloud‑native, Kubernetes‑first architecture on AWS. The role owns the cloud platform end‑to‑end, covering infrastructure, CI/CD, observability, security and developer enablement in a regulated financial environment.
Key responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain Terraform and Terragrunt modules for multi‑account AWS environments and manage EKS clusters with Karpenter provisioning.
- Implement and operate an observability stack (metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, alerting) and define SLOs linked to DORA metrics.
- Own CI/CD pipelines using GitLab runners, ArgoCD and GitOps patterns, creating golden pipelines and self‑service tooling.
- Apply policy‑as‑code, container scanning, supply‑chain security and secrets management, partnering with security teams for audit readiness.
- Architect production EKS clusters, multi‑account landing zones, and evaluate service mesh solutions such as Istio or Linkerd.
Required profile
- 3+ years of production Kubernetes experience, with deep hands‑on EKS knowledge.
- Proven expertise in Terraform at scale, including module authoring and remote state management.
- Strong AWS background covering IAM, VPC, Organizations, SCPs and a broad range of services.
- Experience designing secure, fast CI/CD pipelines and implementing shift‑left security practices.
- Excellent communication skills for explaining architectural decisions and writing runbooks.
