Senior DevOps Engineer

About the role

The Senior DevOps Engineer will optimise software development and deployment processes across the organisation. Working closely with development, operations and security teams, you will automate workflows, improve reliability and ensure applications scale in an agile environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and version‑control infrastructure as code using Terraform or similar tools.
• Design, implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate builds, tests and deployments.
• Manage container platforms such as Docker, Kubernetes and Rancher to support micro‑services.
• Automate repetitive tasks with scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell) and configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
• Implement monitoring, logging and alerting solutions (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Azure Monitor).
• Optimise infrastructure for performance, scalability and cost, providing data‑driven recommendations.
• Collaborate with security teams to embed DevSecOps practices throughout the pipeline.
• Provide 2nd and 3rd level incident and problem support, including root‑cause analysis.
• Maintain up‑to‑date documentation, runbooks and standard operating procedures.
• Define and report on DevOps metrics such as deployment frequency, lead time and MTTR.
• Mentor junior engineers and facilitate knowledge sharing across teams.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in DevOps or related engineering roles.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams.
• Experience providing 2nd/3rd level support and conducting incident investigations.
• Strong communication skills for documentation and mentorship.
