Senior Design Manager – Multidisciplinary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Design Manager – Multidisciplinary to lead design management for projects in South Africa and globally. The role assumes full responsibility for design management, analyses the commercial health of projects, prepares cost proposals, reports and KPIs, and ensures quality procedures are followed across EC Africa and multi‑centric projects. The manager will coordinate closely with Lead Office Project Managers, design teams and clients, approve scope changes, conduct quality reviews and assign lead verifiers. The position supports Africa EC Lead PMs and collaborates with clients to confirm design approaches that satisfy scope and expectations. The successful candidate must hold an Honours, B‑Tech, National Higher Diploma or National Diploma in a built‑environment discipline with at least eight to eleven years of post‑graduate experience, or a tertiary qualification in project management with a minimum of nine years’ experience. Professional registration as PrEng (ECSA), PrArch (SACAP), PrCPM (SACPCMP) or certifications such as PMP, PgMP, PfMP, PMI‑SP, PMI‑ACP are required. The role offers a flexible hybrid work arrangement and is based in Cape Town.
