Senior Debtors Controller

About the role

The Senior Debtors Controller will lead the Bank’s Debtors team, overseeing the full accounts‑receivable function. The role ensures timely collection, accurate allocation of funds and recovery of outstanding debt from corporate and personal customers while supporting profitability and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor aging analysis, follow up overdue accounts and escalate non‑payment to sales or legal collections managers.
• Create and process credit/debit notes, journals and manual debit orders, and reconcile accounts to resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare daily and monthly aging reports, performance analytics and monthly reports for senior management and credit committees.
• Assist internal stakeholders with queries, provide debtor balances, statements and advise other departments on payments received.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements and identify process improvements.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 3–5 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in banking or corporate finance.

Required skills

• Advanced clerical, financial and reconciliation skills.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and reporting abilities.
• Proficiency in financial systems, spreadsheets and automation tools (advanced Excel).
• Knowledge of relevant compliance and regulatory requirements.
