Senior Data Engineer / Data Consultant

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer / Data Consultant to join our team in South Africa. The role focuses on designing and delivering high‑quality data and analytics solutions while engaging directly with clients to understand business needs.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build clean, tested, and documented analytics models.
• Develop performant semantic models using advanced DAX and Power BI.
• Define and maintain business metrics and logic, ensuring stakeholder alignment.
• Translate business requirements into practical data and analytics solutions.
• Support data engineering, BI, and broader consulting activities as needed.
• Facilitate requirements and KPI workshops with clients.
• Contribute to presales, solution shaping, scoping, and estimation.
• Lead or support delivery engagements, ensuring quality, governance, and client satisfaction.
• Mentor colleagues and help develop the Data Practice.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in analytics engineering, data consulting, or a related data discipline.
• Strong experience with semantic modelling, Power BI, and advanced DAX.
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric and the Azure Data Platform.
• Broad understanding of data engineering, BI, data science, and consulting.
• Demonstrated client‑facing experience, including workshops and stakeholder engagement.
• Strong business analysis and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of delivery outcomes.
