Senior Data & Business Analyst

About the role

Our client in Cape Town is seeking a Senior Data & Business Analyst on a contract basis to lead the migration of policy data across multiple platforms. You will ensure data integrity, compliance, and readiness for robotic process automation within a complex insurance environment.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end policy data migration, aligning schemas between source systems, JSON payloads, migration platforms and PolicyCenter.
• Interpret underwriting specifications and translate them into technical mapping matrices and JSON schemas.
• Collaborate with binder holders, broker technical teams, third‑party vendors and internal integration teams to resolve data‑mapping and quality issues.
• Work with Appian developers on the Migration Process Control Platform, creating validation dashboards and exception reports.
• Perform reconciliation and QA across mainframe extracts, JSON payloads, CPR staging and PolicyCenter records.
• Manage rejected records, defects and root‑cause analysis throughout the migration lifecycle.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of short‑term insurance policies, schedules, endorsements and business rules.
• Proven experience in complex integration environments with multiple source systems and APIs.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary delivery teams.
• Clear criminal and credit records.

Required skills

• Advanced SQL development, stored procedures, indexing, query optimisation and performance tuning.
• Database architecture, data modelling, schema design and administration.
• Experience with Appian, PolicyCenter, OBOE and RPA platforms.
• Knowledge of Agile software development practices.
• Proficiency with JSON schema design and data‑quality remediation.
