Senior Commercial Account Executive (Johannesburg)

About the role

We’re seeking a Senior Commercial Account Executive to develop and grow a defined territory in Johannesburg. This active, hands‑on sales role focuses on prospecting, building pipeline, and closing opportunities while also expanding existing accounts.

Key responsibilities

• Execute a territory plan aimed at net‑new logo acquisition and account growth across enterprise accounts.
• Build, manage, and progress a qualified sales pipeline sourced directly and through channel partners.
• Identify key stakeholders, build relationships, and engage senior decision‑makers within complex customer organizations.
• Lead customer engagements through discovery, evaluation, proposal development, and solution alignment with support from Sales Engineers.
• Collaborate closely with channel partners and technology alliances such as NVIDIA, IBM, HPE, and AWS to support deal execution.
• Maintain accurate opportunity tracking, forecasting, and contribute to quarterly performance targets.

Required profile

• Proven experience selling enterprise technology solutions, preferably in infrastructure, SaaS, or related markets.
• Demonstrated success in net‑new customer acquisition and growing existing accounts.
• Strong understanding of information security, cybersecurity frameworks, and compliance standards.
• Customer‑focused mindset with interest in ransomware protection and data recovery.
• Comfort working with channel partners and developing co‑selling skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Professional English proficiency and willingness to travel as required.

Required skills

• Familiarity with Cohesity solutions such as DataProtect, DataHawk, and SmartFiles.
• Experience with backup platforms like NetBackup, Backup Exec, or InfoScale.
• Use of AI tools to improve productivity and sales effectiveness.
